Labor Day White

Tuesday, September 4, 2012

Dress: Anthropologie (old); Denim Jacket: Gap (from HS! Similar HERE); Necklace: BaubleBar; Bracelet: The Fashion Truck; Rings: Stella & Dot; Sandals: Dolce Vita; Bag: Michael Kors

Even though I'm a firm believer in wearing white well after Labor Day, I wanted to get one last wear out of my favorite white sundress that unfortunately does not transition into fall. I paired it with my denim jacket that is from my high school days as a Gap employee and off I went to a family BBQ at my sister's college. (I may or may not have been trying to blend in with the rest of the college freshman with this outfit choice.) How did you spend your Labor Day?

Quick colorful post for you today! I am totally embracing all the bright summer colors before my wardrobe slowly morphs into fall neutrals and then into winter drab. C'est la vie!

Seeing Red

Monday, July 23, 2012

Noticing a trend with my summer outfits? I'm slightly obsessed with peplum (as documented HERE and HERE) and scallops (last seen HERE). One of my favorite things about being a girl is being able to wear cute detailed pieces. These red shorts are adorable on their own, but when paired with an eyelet peplum top, the level of femininity skyrockets. I kind of felt like a 50s housewife in this outfit. Anyone else getting that vibe? Maybe it's the puckering on the top or the fact that it sort of looks like an apron. Either way, I embraced it.

Shorts: J.Crew; Tank: Anthropologie (old, cute version HERE); Wedges: Michael Kors; Bracelets: Stella & Dot, Alex & Ani; Sunnies: Chloe; Polish: Essie Tart Deco

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

One Piece, Three Ways: The Floral Blazer Part 3

Thursday, June 14, 2012

Even though I wish office dressing wasn't something I had to worry about on an almost-daily basis, it is. And considering my current job pays my bills, I'm more than happy to dress the part. But that doesn't mean I don't like to have a little fun with it! So for today's final installment of "How to Wear a Floral Blazer Three Ways", I opted for a job-friendly skirt and some neutral flats.

Blazer: Zara (HERE); Skirt: Anthropologie; Tank: AE; Necklace: Old (fun version HERE); Flats: Steve Madden

I also styled this adorable and versatile floral blazer for a wedding or cocktail party, as well as for a casual day of running errands.
Which outfit is your favorite? Have I talked you into buying a floral blazer yet?

Happy Thursday!

Hello Spring!

Monday, March 19, 2012

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you had a great St. Patty's Day weekend. How amazing is this weather we're having? If it weren't for my allergies wreaking havoc on my life yesterday, I would have spent the entire day outdoors. My wonderful photog "J" snapped these pictures during a stroll at Admiral's Hill in Chelsea, MA. I love the view of Boston from up there.

Blouse: Madewell; Shorts: Anthropologie (here); Flats: Zara; Watch: Michael Kors;
Bangles: Alex & Ani; Polish: Essie Turquoise & Caicos

The winner of the Viola Jane giveaway is Louis! Congrats! I hope you enjoy the sequin collar as much as I have.

Weekend Wandering

Wednesday, March 14, 2012

We snapped these photos on Sunday after a nice bike ride through Arlington & Lexington, MA. It was our first time renting bikes but we had a blast and will be doing it again soon. Who knew 12 miles would fly by so quickly! I was definitely feeling it in my legs the next day though.

Our winter here in Boston was very mild. But that didn't make me any less excited for the first signs of spring. I couldn't wait to ditch the heavy jacket and wear a few cozy layers for our excursion on Sunday.

Sweater: Anthropologie; Striped Tee: H&M; Jeans: Old Navy; Shoes: Sperry; Sunnies: Tory Burch
Watch: Michael Kors; Bangles: Alex & Ani

Chambray Blazer

Wednesday, February 22, 2012

Normally when I think of chambray, I think of pairing it with crisp white denim skinnies or a cute floral pair of shorts. In other words, it's a spring thing for me. But since we're still about three months away from spring here in Boston, I was determined to make my favorite chambray blazer work for winter.

I love it paired with the polka dot  "Charlton" shirt from StyleMint. Gives it sort of a whimsical feel. I added the neon bag because I am in love with everything neon right now. And because it was unexpected.

Blazer: Anthropologie; Polka Dot Charlton Shirt: c/o StyleMint; Skinny jeans: Gap; Flats: Steve Madden
Purse: Old Navy; Watch: Michael Kors; Polish: Essie Lilacism

How do you style chambray for the colder months?

Socks

Friday, February 3, 2012

I've long been dying to wear socks with my heels, booties, loafers, etc... buuut I've never been sure if it looks really good on me or absolutely ridiculous. I'm kind of on the fence. My office environment is pretty conservative so a look like this wouldn't fly but maybe I could swap the blouse out for something a bit more casual and wear it for a night out with friends? Or try it with simple pumps and cute patterned socks? Hmm. I think I see a future "How To" blog post coming out of this...

Blouse: Madewell; Skirt: Anthropologie; Booties: DV Dolce Vita; Socks: AE

What do you think about this look? How would you wear socks with your shoes?

On another note, we made it through another week! Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend. Isn't there some big football game on Sunday? Ha. The only thing I care about when it comes to Superbowl Sunday is the yummy food! Bring on the stretchy pants!

Tartan

Wednesday, December 21, 2011

This dress was love at first sight for me. Even though I bought it back in August, this is my first time actually wearing it. I love the length and the cut, it's unlike anything I have. I might even pull a fashion faux pas and wear it for my family's big Christmas party on Saturday. Very festive, no?

Fall Outfit Inspiration: Perfect Fall Day

Saturday, October 22, 2011

I love cozy sweaters. I picked this one up in July and couldn't wait for the cooler weather to set in so I could wear it. I love the rust color and the way it drapes. It instantly became one of my favorites. We were heading to a food truck festival so I figured I'd wear something comfy and loose so I could really get my eat on.

Sweater: Anthropologie; Aztec print tank top: Anthropologie; Jean leggings: F21; Riding boots: Bandolino via Piperlime; Bangles: Alex & Ani
