White Vest

Wednesday, June 19, 2013

Vest: Zara; Tank: Zara; Jeans: James "Twiggy" via Rue La La; Sandals: Zara (old); Bag: Michael Kors; Bangle: Stella & Dot; Necklace: BaubleBar; Nails: OPI Alpine Snow

This isn't how I originally planned to wear this white vest. But sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate with the outfit you had in mind sooo you just have to roll with the punches, throw on some comfy jeans instead of cute jean cutoffs, add some pops of pink, and rock on with your bad self. Truth be told it was even too cold for bare shoulders so I threw a green cargo jacket over the entire ensemble and went on my merry way.

The Perfect Yellow Dress

Tuesday, April 9, 2013

Dress: c/o eShakti; Heels: Zara; Clutch: Mar Y Sol; Necklace, Rings & Bracelets: Stella & Dot

Wedding season is just around the corner. For me, that means not only having to find the perfect gifts for the new couple but also having to locate a unique dress to wear for their big day. So when eShakti contacted me to try out one of their completely customizable dresses, I jumped at the opportunity. Like your dresses a bit longer? Not a problem. Want your straps a bit thicker? You got it. At eShakti, your wish is their command. Just send your measurements along with your specific requests (spaghetti straps, sweetheart neckline, etc.) and they will ship you the item completely tailored to your specifications. How awesome is that?

White Fur

Monday, February 25, 2013

Fur Vest: H&M; Blouse: J.Crew Factory; Jeans: J Brand; Bag: c/o POSE & Rebecca Minkoff; Heels: Zara (old); Watch: Michael Kors; Rings: Stella & Dot; Lipstick: MAC Snob; Nails: OPI Alpine Snow

I've always felt a special connection to the hippie era. Maybe it's the fact that I was raised in a mostly-carefree small town where we listened to Pink Floyd and The Grateful Dead. Years later, I still tap into my hippie side once in a while, as evidenced by today's outfit. I used to make fun of my mother whenever I would see pictures of her in bell bottoms. She'd always say "they were so cool back then -- I was so cool!" And here I am sporting similar pants, funny how that works. I have a feeling my future children will do the same to me some day.

The Circle Skirt

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

Skirt: F21; Sweater: J.Crew Tippi; Tights: Target; Shoes: J.Crew; Necklace: Stella & Dot; Watch: Michael Kors "Runway"; Bangles: Alex & Ani

Hi guys! Hope everyone had a fabulous Turkey Day! It was a beautiful day in Central New York and shortly thereafter, it dropped about 30 degrees and snowed. There's something so comforting about being around loved ones and friends who have known you forever. It's so easy to get caught up in life and the problems we think we have -- I know I'm guilty of that. Then I arrive home to my tiny little town that no one else in the world has heard of and voila, I'm reminded that my family, friends and I are really pretty fortunate.

Calm Before the Storm

Monday, October 29, 2012

Blazer: Zara; Cords: F21 (similar HERE); Tank: AE; Heels: Charles David; Necklace: Stella & Dot; Ring: Rue La La; Nails: Essie "Chinchilly"

Is it just me or is the media acting like Hurricane Sandy could quite possibly be the end of the world? With all the hype surrounding the approaching storm, I made sure to spend some time outdoors before battening down the hatches and riding it out. The end result were these pictures taken just moments before it started to rain. I actually really like the contrast of my bright red pants and the gloomy grey skies.

Stay safe New Englanders!

Cobalt + Leopard

Friday, October 26, 2012

Dress: J.Crew Factory (another cute one HERE); Wedges: Sole Society; Bracelets: Stella & Dot; Bag:  Michael Kors

Quick Friday post for you guys today! One of my favorite color combinations lately is cobalt and leopard. The saying is true -- leopard is the new black. Don't you agree?

Have a great weekend!

Peplum Stripes

Tuesday, October 23, 2012

Peplum Jacket: Zara; Tank: AE; Jeans: Gap; Shoes: Target (similar HERE); Watch: Michael Kors "Runway"; Bracelets: Alex & Ani, Stella & Dot; Rings: Stella & Dot; Sunnies: Chloe

Wow, I really have a lot of peplum tops. I'm interested to know, how many is too many in one closet? Because I'm pretty sure I'm there. Well, I hope you're not too sick of them yet because I actually have one or two more. A quick word about these loafers -- how cute are they? They're a total copy on the ridiculously expensive Lanvin ones for a smidgen of the price. Talk about a steal!

A special thank you to my wonderful mother for being my photog for the day!

Around Boston: Lux Bond & Green + Ippolita

Tuesday, October 9, 2012

Last Thursday I attended a fabulous event at Lux Bond & Green on Boylston Street in Boston. The lovely Shauna invited us to sip on champagne, nosh on yummy apps, and check out the new Ippolita collection. (Which was absolutely stunning!) We also got to donate some of our designer duds to the Fashion Project to benefit UNICEF. So not only did we get to enjoy a fun night out, but we got to give back to a great cause.

Me & Guida of LoveMyOutfit.com

Party-goers tweeted throughout the night and jewels were given away at random... Guess who got to take this beauty home with her?!

Thank you to everyone who made this event a hit. And to Lux Bond & Green for the gorgeous necklace! I will be back soon, for sure!

Happy 1st Birthday L's Fashion Dish!

Monday, September 24, 2012

Zigzag sequin top: J.Crew; Polka dot top: Piperlime (similar HERE); Jeans: Gap; Heels: J.Crew; Rings: Stella & Dot; Nails: Essie "Skirting the Issue"

One year ago today I sat down at my computer and wrote my first blog post. It's absolutely crazy to me that a year has come and gone already. Where does the time go?!

I never in a million years thought that anyone other than close friends and family would truly be interested in what I had to say. Or what I wore for that matter! I am a fairly open person as it is but it's a whole different ball game when you start sharing your personal life with the whole world. I was so nervous people wouldn't like what I posted. But I'm so thankful that I was wrong! I've met some amazing people along the way and been presented with opportunities that never would have happened if it weren't for this blog. I can't wait to see what the next year brings!

Thank you to every single person who has visited -- whether it was only once or every week. It means the world to me!

And a special thank you to the people who have patiently snapped my photos (and ignored confused and judgy stares from passersby) over the past 12 months. Kim, Taylor, Alexis, and my number one photog Jordan -- I LOVE YOU GUYS!

Overcoat

Thursday, September 20, 2012

Jacket: Zara; Blouse: Madewell (another cute version HERE); Jeans: J Brand; Clutch: Tory Burch; Bracelets: Stella & Dot and The Fashion Truck; Necklace: Stella & Dot; Rings: Stella & Dot; Heels: Zara

Fall in New England is my favorite time of year. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say it is hands down the best season for fashion. I love layering light jackets over silk blouses. This cream Zara number is so versatile because not only does it look great with jeans, but I can easily throw it over a dress for a night on the town.

Also a fun little trick -- do your sunglasses come in a cute case? Mine did! So I used it as a clutch to add instant glam to my somewhat plain outfit.
