The Bag Lady

Wednesday, August 21, 2013

Dress: ASOS (on sale!); Heels: Kelsi Dagger; Bag: Vintage Louis Vuitton Pochette Twin PM; Watch: Michael Kors; Bangles: Alex & Ani; Rings: Tiffany and vintage; Nails: Muchi Muchi

Restaurant Week is in full swing here in Boston and it's a great opportunity to try new spots at a good price. It's also a good time to wear the mumu and/or paper bag inspired dress that hangs so perfectly and makes any frame look svelte.

Thank you J for the wonderful pics!

Sweater: J.Crew Tippi; Shorts: J.Crew Factory; Sandals: J.Crew Factory (in pink & mint HERE; Watch: Michael Kors; Bangles: Alex & Ani

Just wanted to share a few quick shots from my trip to Napa. We had such an amazing time -- I can't wait to go back!

What says summertime more than sunflowers?

Ram's Gate takes the cake for best architecture AND best sauvignon blanc!

Duckhorn Vineyards

Look at this scenery! Sterling Vineyards (you take a gondola up to the winery -- how cool?)

Neon + Stripes

Thursday, June 6, 2013

Dress: LOFT; Heels: Target; Watch: Michael Kors; Bangles: Alex & Ani

Nothing like a pop of neon to really bring an outfit to life. Sure, this dress is cute on its own. But by adding a totally unexpected (and somewhat flashy) element, a basic outfit is instantly transformed into something SO much better. What can I say, I'm an 80s baby! Love me some neon!

Thank you again to Jordan for snapping these pics!

I'm off to Cali tomorrow for a brief vacation. If you have any recommendations for the Napa area, let me know!

SiSi Wore Sailboats by the Seashore

Thursday, July 26, 2012

A few things about the title of this post. Most of you know me as "L". I also answer to Lindsey, Linds, Hey You, and sometimes even the dog's name (when I'm home and visiting the grandparents, of course.) But to a small crowd under the age of 8, I am known as SiSi (Cici, Sey-Sey, etc.) My godson Evan gave me this nickname when he was a tiny tot and clearly it stuck.

Second, I guess you really can't qualify this as the seashore. But it's close enough, right?

Onto the outfit... This was one of those lazy days where after dragging myself to the gym and yoga, I went back home, crawled into bed, and stayed there until ohhh, about 6pm. Then the guilt of spending the majority of a beautiful day indoors started to creep up on me. So I did what any normal human being would do: cleaned myself up, threw on this cute sailboat blouse, posed for pics, then proceeded to get really drunk off of margaritas. Now that's what I call a successful day. Don't judge.

Shirt: Old Navy; Jeans: Hudson; Necklace: BaubleBar; Wedges: Seychelles; Bangles: Alex & Ani, Bobbles & Lace Boston; Purse: F21

I'm off to NY tonight to see family and friends. See you Monday my dears!

Flowers + Stripes

Friday, July 20, 2012

Say hello to my new favorite combination. Okay, so I've actually mixed florals with stripes before, but this outfit made me fall in love all over again. I definitely got a few disapproving "that poor girl got dressed in the dark" looks while I was out and about, but that's to be expected in a town that was recently voted "Worst Dressed" by GQ. (Really Boston?! We can do better than that!)

I wore this out for sushi with my sister a few nights ago. We have had 90+ temps all week but after a huge storm and a tornado warning (only a minor panic attack about that one), the steamy heat dissipated, leaving us with perfect sleeping weather. Which you may or may not know, translates into perfect long-sleeve shirt and skirt weather.

Shirt: H&M; Skirt: F21 (old, cute one HERE); Bag: c/o Rebecca Minkoff & Pose; Sandals: Dolce Vita; Watch: Michael Kors; Bangles: Alex & Ani, gift from a friend

Happy Friday!

Chambray + White

Monday, July 16, 2012

There are few pairings that scream "summer" more than chambray and white. It's such an effortless combo but the end results are crisp and cool. Add a few pops of color and you're good to go. I'm a complete sucker for a ruffle detail on anything... and then I spotted the $15 price tag and was REALLY in heaven. Cute shirt for under $20! Amazing.

Top: Old Navy; Jeans: Hudson (HERE); Bag: Rebecca Minkoff (other colors HERE); Sandals: Sam Edelman; Bangles: Alex & Ani, Forever21, Bobbles & Lace Boutique; Necklace: Stella & Dot; Polish: Essie Lapis of Luxury

Have a great Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Flower Girl

Wednesday, May 30, 2012

Dress: Zara (similar HERE); Heels: Charles David (old); Purse: Old Navy; Watch: MK; Bangles: Alex & Ani; Nails: Essie Bubble Bath; Lips: Sephora Forever Fuchsia (HERE)

I wore this to a friend's wedding last weekend and while I wasn't actually the flower girl, I thought the floral print on my dress was perfect for such a happy occasion. When the dancing got going, I ditched my heels for something more fun and MUCH more comfortable... THESE hot pink Zara sandals.

Would you wear a dress like this to a wedding?

Hello Spring!

Monday, March 19, 2012

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you had a great St. Patty's Day weekend. How amazing is this weather we're having? If it weren't for my allergies wreaking havoc on my life yesterday, I would have spent the entire day outdoors. My wonderful photog "J" snapped these pictures during a stroll at Admiral's Hill in Chelsea, MA. I love the view of Boston from up there.

Blouse: Madewell; Shorts: Anthropologie (here); Flats: Zara; Watch: Michael Kors;
Bangles: Alex & Ani; Polish: Essie Turquoise & Caicos

The winner of the Viola Jane giveaway is Louis! Congrats! I hope you enjoy the sequin collar as much as I have.

Weekend Highlights

Monday, March 5, 2012

This past weekend was so much fun. Unfortunately I'm still paying for the lack of sleep but it was well worth it.

J and I went out for sushi on Friday night -- I had been craving it all week so we went to one of our favorite places All Seasons Table (check out my restaurant review here!)

Saturday night was my dear friend Christopher's birthday outing. We had dinner and cocktails at 28 Degrees (try the Frozen Bellini!) before heading to The Donkey Show at the Oberon Theatre. This show was SO entertaining. It's essentially a nod to A Midsummer Night's Dream and Studio 54. We purchased tickets on the floor so we could be right in the middle of the madness and glitter. The disco music was perfect and we danced so much my legs are still sore.

Colorblock Heels: Zara; Chevron tights: LOFT; Dress: Zara; Clutch: Madison Elizabeth
Bracelets: Alex & Ani, F21, Bobbles & Lace Boston; Polish: Essie Tart Deco

And then there's Sunday. Oh, how I love/hate Sundays. I love that it's a day where you can and should be incredibly lazy and eat whatever you want. But then that "Sunday anxiety" creeps up when you remember that after Sunday comes the dreaded Monday. And another week full of work. Yuck!

How was your weekend? Any exciting highlights from yours?

Until tomorrow!
