Wine Me

Friday, September 28, 2012

Top: Zara; Jeans: Zara ($36!); Flats: Shoemint; Watch: Michael Kors "Runway"; Nails: Essie "Skirting the Issue"

Whether you call it wine, burgundy, or oxblood, it truly is the "IT" of the season. It's EVERYWHERE. And I am yet another sucker who has fallen victim to it. I suddenly need a piece of every kind in this gorgeous fall tone. Jeans, check. Shoes, check. Blazer, check. You get the idea. How do you feel about this color? Are you as obsessed as I am?

Happy Friday! And in honor of this post, I will be sure to have several glasses of wine tonight. Here's to a wonderful weekend! See everyone on Monday.

Floral Dress Remix

Wednesday, September 26, 2012

Dress: Zara; Jacket: F21 (similar HERE); Shoes: Ann Taylor (fall version HERE); Clutch: Madison Elizabeth via Etsy; Belt: J.Crew

This dress has gotten so much use over the past few months -- wedding, bridal shower, work-related event -- you name it, I've probably worn this dress to it. I was rotating my summer clothes to the hall closet this past weekend (insert sad face here), and found myself having a hard time putting this one away. So I decided to make it work one last time, this time for fall. I "roughed" it up a bit with a cargo jacket and a belt but still kept it girly with the pops of pink. What do you think? How do you make your favorite summer dresses transition into fall?

Until tomorrow!

Happy 1st Birthday L's Fashion Dish!

Monday, September 24, 2012

Zigzag sequin top: J.Crew; Polka dot top: Piperlime (similar HERE); Jeans: Gap; Heels: J.Crew; Rings: Stella & Dot; Nails: Essie "Skirting the Issue"

One year ago today I sat down at my computer and wrote my first blog post. It's absolutely crazy to me that a year has come and gone already. Where does the time go?!

I never in a million years thought that anyone other than close friends and family would truly be interested in what I had to say. Or what I wore for that matter! I am a fairly open person as it is but it's a whole different ball game when you start sharing your personal life with the whole world. I was so nervous people wouldn't like what I posted. But I'm so thankful that I was wrong! I've met some amazing people along the way and been presented with opportunities that never would have happened if it weren't for this blog. I can't wait to see what the next year brings!

Thank you to every single person who has visited -- whether it was only once or every week. It means the world to me!

And a special thank you to the people who have patiently snapped my photos (and ignored confused and judgy stares from passersby) over the past 12 months. Kim, Taylor, Alexis, and my number one photog Jordan -- I LOVE YOU GUYS!

Overcoat

Thursday, September 20, 2012

Jacket: Zara; Blouse: Madewell (another cute version HERE); Jeans: J Brand; Clutch: Tory Burch; Bracelets: Stella & Dot and The Fashion Truck; Necklace: Stella & Dot; Rings: Stella & Dot; Heels: Zara

Fall in New England is my favorite time of year. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say it is hands down the best season for fashion. I love layering light jackets over silk blouses. This cream Zara number is so versatile because not only does it look great with jeans, but I can easily throw it over a dress for a night on the town.

Also a fun little trick -- do your sunglasses come in a cute case? Mine did! So I used it as a clutch to add instant glam to my somewhat plain outfit.

Rebecca Minkoff Spring/Summer '13

Monday, September 17, 2012

If you're a frequent reader of L's Fashion Dish, or even a twitter or instagram follower, you're well aware of my obsession with all things Rebecca Minkoff. So when Bloglovin' announced that they would be partnering with RM to give away a $1500 shopping spree at www.RebeccaMinkoff.com, I hopped to it and chose my three favorite looks from her recent NYFW presentation. And what I am dying to have in my closet for spring/summer 2013.
Narrowing it down to the above three looks was a challenge seeing as how I was obsessed with every. single. piece. she debuted. Let's talk about the shorts in the first look, shall we? Chevron and royal blue together in one piece? Paired with those chic strappy wedges? I've died and gone to sartorial heaven.

I've been eyeing crop tops for a while but haven't had the guts to wear one... until I eyed Rebecca's printed sweetheart version. I vow to do extra crunches this winter so that I can rock it as well as the model above.

The third look has to be my favorite. I can't wait to embrace my inner bohemian princess with this stunning layered dress.

Join me in the contest by visiting Bloglovin' here! Not a blogger? No worries, you can still get in on the fun by entering to win $500 to spend on RM goodies here.

A Little Flounce Never Hurt Anybody...

Thursday, September 13, 2012

Dress: LOFT; Blazer: Zara; Bag: Michael Kors; Sandals: Dolce Vita; Sunnies: Chloe

There's a couple things I love about this dress. The color block (and I thought I was over color block!), the drop waist 1920s feel, and the overall cuteness of it. I mean, anything with a little flounce puts a little extra pep in my step. Does it do that to you? In retrospect, it probably would have looked much better with heels. But truth be told, I like to limit long days at the office in heels to one day a week. And today just wasn't that day.

Even though I was loving that today was a bit on the summery side, I would be lying if I said I wasn't excited to pair this with opaque tights and booties in a few short weeks.

Fashion's Night Out Boston

Friday, September 7, 2012

Last night I was privileged enough to attend the Neiman Marcus and Boston Common Magazine Fashion's Night Out party at Copley Place. The highlight of the night were definitely the fashion shows and they did not disappoint. I've been in total resistance of admitting that the fall season is upon us, but after seeing the gorgeous selection of clothing last night, I'm ready.

The trends I'm most excited for this seasons are mixed greens, "borrowed from the boys", and LEATHER! There were so many beautiful colors of leather that I had never considered wearing prior to last night. Now I am in desperate need of a pair of supple, cobalt blue leather pants. Or oxblood. Or greige. Or a bigger bank account.

Vegan Leather Top: Piperlime; Jeans: J Brand; Heels: Miu Miu (Glitter version HERE); Bag: Michael Kors; Necklace: Stella & Dot; Bangles: F21 & The Fashion Truck

Don't forget to enter my INPINK giveaway! The clock is ticking -- giveaway ends Friday, September 14.

Happy Friday!
