Business Casual

Thursday, August 8, 2013

Tee: c/o Skip n' Whistle; Skirt: J.Crew; Heels: Zara (old); Bag: Zara; Bracelets: Stella & Dot; Sunnies: Chloe

I love a good graphic tee. Especially when I can pair it with a pencil skirt and wear it around the office -- brings new meaning to the term "Business Casual". In the week I've owned this shirt I've also worn it with a flowy maxi skirt and denim cut offs. Talk about versatile!

California Love

Tuesday, June 11, 2013

Dress: J.Crew Factory (on sale HERE); Wedges: Michael Kors (similar HERE); Rings: ASOS (similar HERE); Nail polish: OPI Alpine Snow

Greetings from San Francisco! Can I just move here already? The absence of humidity alone is reason enough for me to say "sayonara" to the East Coast. The weather has been perfect since I've been here and I know it's been capital C crappy in Boston the last few days so I'm really not looking forward to my flight tonight. I wore this cute little number to my cousin's graduation party on Saturday. Love the embroidery! Not to mention it was roomy enough for me to eat my weight in guacamole. AND it has pockets. JACKPOT!

Thanks Mommabear for the pics!

Summer Wind

Tuesday, June 4, 2013

Dress: J.Crew (similar HERE); Wedges: Seychelles; Bag: Michael Kors; Watch: Michael Kors; Bangles: Alex & Ani

L's Lesson of the Day: It's physically impossible to look cute when there are gale force winds ripping through your hair. I shouldn't complain too much because we had an absolutely beautiful weekend here in Boston, regardless of the "breeze". I should also be thankful the pedestrians of Cambridge weren't exposed to a Marilyn-type moment while snapping these photos. So all in all, I guess we can chalk Sunday up to a win.

Thank you to Jordan for being my photog for the day!

Where's My Yacht?

Where's My Yacht?

Well, well, well. Look who it is. Did you think you'd never hear from me again? That I'd somehow slipped and fallen into the abyss? Sometimes I think I'm pretty funny. I'm my biggest fan actually.

Anywho, I'm like 99% sure the only person still checking my blog is my mother but hey, if you're here and reading, thanks for sticking with me! Work has been INSANE but the good news is that things are calming back down. I'm happy to report Summer Fridays have begun which basically means I leave the office at 3pm (on the dot) and by 3:15 I'm lounging by the pool. Not too shabby.

Other than pool time, summertime means nautical fashion to me. These are pieces anyone can wear or bring into the home. They aren't trendy items that will lose their appeal after a few months; nautical has been and will always be "in". I don't consider myself super preppy but I always feel like Jackie O when wearing a navy and white striped dress. Pinky out!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Silver Lining

Wednesday, May 8, 2013

Jacket: Zara; Skirt: Piperlime (old); Heels: Zara; Watch: Michael Kors "Runway"; Rings: Vintage & Tiffany's; Lip: MAC Snob

Whenever I spend time with a specific girlfriend of mine, we end up in the most random conversations about life, love, and friendships. You name it, we've probably discussed it at length. I'm also pretty sure we've solved most of the world's problems. Too bad the wine we consume during those convos prohibits us from remembering any of it but hey, A for effort, right? One recurring theme in our talks is how attitude is more than half the battle in life. You must always look on the bright side of things. Every cloud has a silver lining. I could go on and on with cheesy cliches but you get my point. What better way to remind myself to look for the silver lining than a pair of sassy silver shoes? (File this under: Watch Lindsey justify every purchase.)

A special thanks to Elena for the pics!

Pops of Red

Thursday, April 25, 2013

Jacket: Zara (old); Polka Dot Top: ASOS; Jeans: Gap; Sandals: Kelsi Dagger; Clutch: Michael Kors

Sometimes all a girl needs are some polka dots and a red lip to put the pep back in her step. Oh, and a little sunshine never hurts.

Weekday Grunge

Tuesday, March 12, 2013

Cargo Jacket: F21 (old); Sweater: J.Crew Tippi; Boyfriend Jeans: Gap; Booties: Steve Madden; Watch: Michael Kors; Clutch: Louis Vuitton

Oh hey guys! Sorry for being MIA lately. Between a crazy day job, traveling on the weekends, and wacky weather that can't decide what it wants to do, it's become near impossible to find time to snap pics. The good news is my schedule is calming down and the forecast is looking up so there should be plenty of outfit posts to look forward to from here on out.

Yesterday I was feeling a bit frazzled, if you couldn't tell by my outfit. But the end result was exactly what I was going for -- a little bit grungy, a little bit girly. Luckily I work in a very creative workplace that allows us to wear basically whatever we please. Add a dramatic lip and some frilly details and you're left with an outfit that's perfect for running errands or running around Rue La La.

White Fur

Monday, February 25, 2013

Fur Vest: H&M; Blouse: J.Crew Factory; Jeans: J Brand; Bag: c/o POSE & Rebecca Minkoff; Heels: Zara (old); Watch: Michael Kors; Rings: Stella & Dot; Lipstick: MAC Snob; Nails: OPI Alpine Snow

I've always felt a special connection to the hippie era. Maybe it's the fact that I was raised in a mostly-carefree small town where we listened to Pink Floyd and The Grateful Dead. Years later, I still tap into my hippie side once in a while, as evidenced by today's outfit. I used to make fun of my mother whenever I would see pictures of her in bell bottoms. She'd always say "they were so cool back then -- I was so cool!" And here I am sporting similar pants, funny how that works. I have a feeling my future children will do the same to me some day.

The Tuxedo Blazer

Thursday, January 31, 2013

Blazer: c/o Flirt Catalog; Peplum Top: F21; Faux Leather Pants: H&M; Heels: Miu Miu; Watch: Michael Kors Runway; Bangles: Alex & Ani; Rings: Vintage & Tiffany's

I've been searching for the perfect tuxedo blazer for months now. After being thoroughly disappointed with versions from all my usual shopping spots, the Fashion Gods smiled down on me and sent FlirtCatalog.com my way. And while it's much too cold in Boston to rock the fun and flirty dresses they offer, this blazer was the perfect addition to my closet for work and play.

Winter Layers

Monday, January 28, 2013

Faux Fur Vest: BB Dakota; Blazer: Zara (old); Striped Blouse: Zara (recent); Jeans: 7FAM; Heels: Zara (on sale now!); Sunnies: Chloe

It's almost February and that means I've reached my threshold of winter weather. If the snow and cold only lasted from December 1-January 31, I'd be a happy girl. Then why did I choose to move to Boston, of all places? I ask myself the same question every day. I'm so sick of wearing a bulky, Michelin Man-style coat every single day and have been desperate for ways to look cute in the cold all the while staying warm. The answer? Layers, my friends. Lots of 'em.

A special thanks to Erica for snapping these pics!

Happy Monday everyone, hope you have a great day!

Cobalt, Black and White

Wednesday, January 9, 2013

Jacket: Zara (recent); Tee: Zara; Faux leather skinnies (dream pair HERE): H&M; Bag: Zara; Heels: Shoemint; Watch: Michael Kors

Finally! A post! Don't mind the disheveled backdrop for today's pictures. I had a small window before my new furniture was delivered (and truth be told it was FREEZING outside) so I decided to give you a little glimpse into my new (read: work in progress) apartment/life. Someday I will have it fully organized. Someday.

Now onto the outfit. I scored this cobalt beauty in the Zara sale right after Christmas and I've already worn it three times. I just love the unique cut of it. These leather skinnies have also been on repeat as of late. $35 for pants that look and feel amazing? Yes please! Now let's move onto the shoes... I grabbed these spur of the moment on Cyber Monday. I vowed I wouldn't do any shopping that day but let's be honest. That's like saying you won't eat any cookie dough while baking.

That's all for now!

Black + White

Tuesday, December 11, 2012

Top: Zara (recent); Velvet Pants: Paige; Heels: J.Crew; Bag: Zara (old); Watch: Michael Kors "Runway"; Nails: OPI Lincoln Park After Dark

Black and white is my go-to color combination. It's classic, chic, and looks good on everyone. I love the leather details on this top. As seen in my last few posts, I'm slightly obsessed with all things {faux} leather right now. Just picked up some fab H&M skinnies for $35 that I can't wait to post!

Winterized Leather Peplum

Monday, December 3, 2012

Jacket: J.Crew Factory; Vegan Leather Peplum: Piperlime; Blouse: J.Crew; Jeans: J Brand; Heels: Zara; Bag: Chanel; Nails: OPI Lincoln Park After Dark

Winter is in full swing so lately I've been trying to find ways to get use out of my summer and fall pieces without freezing to death. The answer: layers. Instead of throwing a blazer over my leather peplum top (last seen HERE), I added a simple blouse underneath and can now enjoy it for months to come. Plus the contrast between the soft girly blouse and the "tough" leather top is fun.

Happy Monday!
