Crop Top: Zara; Textured Skirt: Topshop; Heels: Fendi via RueLaLa; Necklace: Chanel; Lipstick: MAC Snob

Yay for warmer weather and the ability to FINALLY wear the skirt that's been sitting in my closet for months now. I love that the black and white trend is still big right now because it's been my go-to color combo for as long as I have been able to dress myself. The full skirt/crop top duo is flattering on so many different body types -- who said you need abs to rock it?

Crop Top: American Apparel; Skirt: Topshop; Heels: Miu Miu; Clutch: Vintage Dior (Borrowed from my fabulous friend Adriana); Necklace: Forever21; Rings: Stella & Dot, Etsy

Soooo it's my birthday. My last year of being in my 20s. I didn't think this would bother me but as I sit here typing this I can't help but feel a bit... old. The hangovers are worse, I can't eat what I want any longer, and my knee hurts when it rains. What gives?! But on the flip side I'm more confident than ever, have a career that I love and have finally figured out that it's not the quantity of people you surround yourself with, but more the quality. I'm thankful for all that this year has brought me and I can't wait to see what the next one has in store. PS learn from me and don't wear a crop top out for your birthday dinner. It's really hard to hide a full tummy that way.

A Metallic Moment

A Metallic Moment

I NEVER in a million years thought I'd be digging the whole metallic thing. But I am, and now I'm obsessing over every single piece in this set. Add one of the above items to an otherwise understated outfit and BAM! Instant pizzazz.

Top Row: Stella McCartney Falabella Clutch / Essie Metallics Collection / Topshop Playsuit

Middle Row: Kate Spade Bow Belt / J.Crew Wedges / Sperry Top-Sider Sandal / Jimmy Choo Heels

Bottom Row: Zara Blouse / Forever21 Necklace / Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC / Toy Watch Rose Gold Watch

Would you wear any of these pieces? If so, what and how would you rock them?

Mad Men Style

Mad Men Style

Sooo I don't actually watch the show {yet} but I've always loved the glam, retro style that Mad Men embodies. So clean and polished. I also love that it's become incredibly mainstream as of late... Thank you, Banana Republic. My office is hosting a Mad Men style day tomorrow where all are encouraged to dress in their best Don Draper and Betty Francis get-ups. Should I go with the dress, neckerchief and gloves or the cropped pants, cat eye glasses and cardi set?

Outfit 1: TopMan Vest / Neil Barrett Shirt & Tie / TopMan Suit Pants / Black Penny Loafers / Salvatore Ferragamo Watch

Outfit 2: TopShop Jacquard Dress / Neckerchief / Tights / Lanvin Short Gloves / KORS Michael Kors Strappy Heel / Structured Bag / Red Lipstick

Outfit 3: J.Crew Cardigan, Shell, Cafe Capris / Kitten Heels / Cat Eye Glasses / Pearls

Blue Suede Shoes

Thursday, March 14, 2013

Top: Topshop; Faux Leather Pants: H&M; Hat: Urban Outfitters; Heels: Zara; Bag: Michael Kors; Spike Necklace & Ring: Topshop

Here I go again -- sporting my favorite color combo (last seen HERE & HERE). Basic separates like a great white tee and leather leggings are perfect for showing off my new blue suede shoes... that, by the way, I scored recently at Zara for $40! I was totally pushing it by going bare-armed for these photos but I'm just SO sick of winter layers, it's not even funny. Anyone else with me? Oh, and the floppy hat? Definitely not masking a bad hair day. I swear. ;)

L's Spring 2013 Wish List

L's Spring 2013 Wish List

With New York Fashion Week in full swing and a blizzard looming, all I can do to get through the long day is think about warm weather clothes. I'm obsessed with what's trending this season and can't wait to get my hands on the items above. As we all know by now, emerald has been named color of the year. A color I don't typically gravitate towards but plan to work into my spring wardrobe with accessories and nail color (LOVE the idea of emerald green nails!)

Black and white is already my go-to color combination (as last seen HERE) so I'm psyched to see all the graphic black and white on the runways lately. Stripes are also huge. Never thought I'd be drawn to striped heels but this Zara pair is killer. And the number one item on my spring wish list is this gorgeous floral belted dress from Prabal Gurung's collection for Target -- debuting Sunday, February 10!

What's on your wish list for spring?

Girls Weekend!

Girls Weekend!

I'm off to West Palm Beach this weekend with a few girlfriends and I could NOT. BE. MORE. EXCITED. For one, it's a whopping 19 degrees here in Boston. And two, who doesn't love the opportunity to let loose for a couple days in a warm climate?

The outfit on the left is my casual-but-still-cute brunching/shopping/beach ensemble and the one on the right is clearly my out and about number. I've never worn a crop top but I did vow back in the spring to get my abs in shape in order to wear one. They're not necessarily in pristine shape but we'll give it a shot. I mean it's only an inch of skin, right? (I'll actually be shocked if I end up having the guts to wear it.)

What are your plans for the long weekend? Whatever they are, enjoy and I'll see everyone on Tuesday!

Vacation Daydreaming

Friday, March 2, 2012

Punta Cana

There I go again. Daydreaming away on a Friday and planning outfits for my vacation. Are you sick of hearing about it yet? I created this set on Polyvore as a way to put together pieces I already own, and imagine how they'd look lounging alongside a beautiful beach with a fruity umbrella drink in my hand.

I love the look of high-waisted shorts paired with a tie-waist chambray tank. The scalloped edge of the shorts (which I LOVE) might make this outfit a bit young looking, but I think pairing them with the leopard trim Sam Edelman Gigi brings them back to age appropriate for me.

I figure you always need one fairly dressy outfit for a nice dinner or hitting the town. For me, that will be a black maxi dress, those adorable Zara colorblock heels and a colorful Stella & Dot necklace

What are your vacation outfit essentials?

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!
